“Cider Meets Cannabis”

Here’s an excerpt from the article written by Emily Parker:

“The partnership between Sunset Lake Cannabis and Hackett’s Orchard grew naturally from a shared history and proximity. Sam Bellavance, owner of Sunset Lake Cannabis, explains, ‘Hackett’s Orchard has always had a special place in my heart. My grandmother was the sister of Celia Hackett, one of the orchard’s original owners.’ Childhood visits filled with apple picking and family tours left an impression, making Hackett’s the obvious collaborator for the project.

For Orchard Manager Devin Hackett, the decision was equally straightforward. ‘They’re as local as local gets!’ he says. ‘I can practically see their farm from our orchard.’ This closeness allowed the two businesses to work together seamlessly, merging their expertise to craft something truly unique.”

High Branch Sparkling Cannabis Cider

We teamed up with our neighbors at Hackett’s Orchard to combine two of Vermont’s most iconic crops: apple cider and sungrown cannabis! High Branch Sparkling Cannabis Cider is made with our Climate Neutral Certified cannabis and fresh-pressed, naturally sweet cider – no added sugar and never from concentrate. The result is crisp, off-dry, and refreshing! Fans of Vermont craft cider will rejoice now that there is a non-alcoholic cider that still has psychoactive effects!

All of the cannabis we infuse into our High Branch cider was sungrown right down the road at our Sunset Lake Cannabis farm in South Hero, Vermont. Just across the road from our farm, the team at Hackett’s Orchard crafted a special blend of apples for this THC cider.

High Branch Sparkling Cannabis Cider is non-alcoholic, gluten-free, vegan, and contains two 5mg THC servings per can (10mg THC total per can). Serve chilled right out of the can, over ice or in your favorite non-alcoholic cocktail! Check out our recipe for the Stoned Fence Cocktail below.

Stoned Fence Cocktail

Our riff on the famous Stone Fence cocktail that fueled the Green Mountain Boys’ raid on Fort Ticonderoga.

  • 6oz High Branch Sparkling Cannabis Cider (5mg THC)

  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters (or All The Bitter Non-Alc Aromatic Bitters)

  • Lemon peel twist

  • Crushed ice

Pour High Branch over crushed ice in a Old Fashioned glass. Add two dashes of aromatic bitters and stir to combine. Twist lemon peel over glass to express the oils and garnish with the peel. Enjoy!
